Realignment After New Tires?

Me and my uncle got to talking the other day and he said that when he gets new tires on his truck or his wife's car he gets a realignment when they mount and balance. I thought that might be a little excessive but he said he doesn't want it to wear out the tires faster than they need to.

Does anyone else do this or is he just retarded?

It's a good idea.

People generally don't get their vehicles realigned often. Being that you only replace tires every 30,000+ miles, it's a good time to get an alignment done as well and to check the front end for worn components.

The two tire shops in my area include 4 wheel alignment when you buy 4 tires. Spending $60 for an alignment to get the most of you $600 to $800 investment isn't a terrible idea.

I bought the unlimited lifetime alignment program here in TX. I had it on my car prior to my Sierra and will get that sucker aligned everytime I get an oil change just b/c I can.
