Fuel Pump Died

Hello,

 

My fuel pump died (my truck only has 80kmls) now i need a new one

my garage here in Germany wants 800$ for a new one until tomorrow and 650$ if shipped from the states

I said I have to think about it I googled the prices and I think he wants to gouge me.

 

On ebay i found some for 120-160$

I'm sure the ones from ebay will be just fine. They should definitely last another 80,000 Km. My original lasted 180,000 km.

my opinion... the (cheaper) fuel pumps on ebay could very likely be no-name or counterfeit brand parts

.... I wouldn't buy it, but then I have other options available to me

 

if you do buy one on ebay you are taking a risk that you will be replacing the pump again soon.

 

you're best bet for low risk longer term operation is to get an ACDelco or a Delphi brand , but you have to decide based on the reality that you are on another continent...

I agree as I replaced mine with a Delphi. But, I would NOT pay $800 for a fuel pump.

just thought better a cheap one if the original is trash too cuz it only lasts 80kmls

 

i will never pay 800$ for that part i guess it is just a 200$ part if i buy it myself and

 

ship it to germany.

 

btw i run my truck with LPG so the pump is just to start the engine and run it sometimes with gasoline

 

when there is no LPG-station near on vacations

There are other sources to order quality parts from that will ship to you

I read LPG..... Aftermarket conversion????

 

Could you hear the pump dis-engage when you switch to LPG?

 

Delphi or AC Delco pretty much all the way on electric fuel pumps......

Does the fuel pump turn off when you are running on LP? Remember that the fuel cools the fuel pump, so you need to have some good old gasoline in there to keep it in good condition.

My dad bought one of those ebay pumps about 6 months ago, works fine so far!

I would go for the cheap one at that price difference.

the pump must work while running with lpg because you absolutely feel nothing if you switch from gas to lpg.

i can run my engine with lpg only so i can wait one or two weeks to get the new pump.

but at that car there is always something and i am fed up with buying expensive "quality" parts because the last pump just runned 80kmls

thats why i think of a cheap one and i guess i will get a new truck the next 40kmls
