4l80-e Shifting Question In New To Me 91 Burban

Hi all,

I bought a new to me 91 suburban r1500 and i have noticed a slight jolt as the tranny shifts from 1st to neutral when I come to a stop. Is this normal for a 4L80-e transmission? I checked the fluid and it's new and has been topped up to the right level. It's only got 130k on it so i figure it's still good for a while if i only plan on putting 5k a year on it.

... it does not sound real serious, so I would take it to a trusted transmission mechanic for an opinion (even get 2 or 3 opinions if some of the opinions sound off the wall ...)

 

... it could be the speed sensors on the side of the transmission

... or it could be a shift sensor sticking

 

a good shop should be able to diagnose any trouble quickly... don't just get a flush because they say so.. that in itself will not fix anything, but it is preventative maintenance...
