Vent Tube Leak...once In A While?

Hi all,

I noticed an occasional, very small leak coming from a vent tube that extends from the rear of the engine compartment to the frame and is secured next to the post-cat O2 sensor where it drips out. I recently drove it about 300 miles non stop and there was about a dinner-plate sized puddle of what I believed to be oil under the truck the next morning. Short trips and commuting back and forth to work result in a very tiny amount of fluid if any at all. So sometimes it leaks and sometimes it doesn't. I took the truck for an oil change this weekend and I was told that this is "not normal" and I should take it to a tranny shop and have it looked at because it's actually transmission fluid leaking and I was down about a quart after 3500 miles of driving. There doesn't seem to be any performance issues at all, the truck runs very smoothly and it's very quiet, shifting feels normal. They mentioned the possibility of a faulty check valve? Is this something I need to worry about or just watch to see if it gets any worse? Can anybody help me to understan what this could be please?

Thanks a bunch :fume:

Is that the drivers side or passenger side. The passenger side will dump out condensation from the A/C. I get a decent piddle (dinner plate size), after driving in hot weather.

If it's transmission fluid, it'll be reddish color. Engine oil, tan/black.
