Pics With New Tires And Homade Leveling Kit

New tires, Buckshot XMT's stock size. 2" Leveling kit I made. Last but not least...fresh wax job. All picks taken on a POS cell phone...sorry. I don't wash my truck nearly as much as I should, when I do it is a bit depressing. I find more dings/chips/dents etc every time. I guess I should be expected on a pretty heavily used work truck.

Wait until Matt sees this, lol. He isn't a big fan of "homemade" leveling kit. Anyway, how loud are the tires, and how much did they run you?

I just hope it doesn't look like that other guy's "homemade" kit... that thing was an accident waiting to happen.

 

I don't get why people are too cheap to shell out the $50 for a Rough Country 2" kit. So much easier, plus if something does go wrong THEY are the ones liable for the damage.

I agree Charlie... i personally would prefer just to buy a kit... they're cheap enough. But if someone wants to make their own, and they do it correctly, then im not going to tell them how to spend their money.

Homade to me is actually machine shop made, where I work. Free material, on the clock...so I got paid to make it. 2-1" thick flat stock aluminum in the shape of a U with 2 holes in each is really pretty hard to screw up. I'll be generous and say they took 30 min to make.

 

Tires cost me 650+75(mount,ballance,alignment). They are loud compared to stock, but you can still carry on a conversation without raising your voice even with the windows down. With the windows up it is just kind of a soft hum, for lack of better terminology.

 

I figure if something goes wrong with a RC kit they would push real hard to blame it on install anyways. Between bolts and hardware, part failure is virtually impossible. JMO

 

I am amazed at how much better these trucks look once leveled, in person. Online pics just don't grant quite the same perspective.
