Towing Mirrors

Has anyone installed these replacement mirrors?  Cost?

How difficult was the install?

The website shows extended & foldable towing mirrors- manual, electric and electric heated.

I don't know anything to help you on those. Many at www.thedieselpage.com have seemed to like the Lucerix towing mirrors.  You may do a search there for info on both brands. Good Luck. Post back on your results.

" I installed the electric heated ones. You need a 10 mm deep socket or a short extention. And about 10 minutes of free time! Pull the triangle shaped trim piece off and three bolts is all it takes. One little plug and your done. No cutting no drilling! Ask JK about price and I think Mdrag has some pics and a few links."

"These are the same as the Lucerix mirrors that so many TDP forum posts have talked about. CIPA just gets them from Lucerix and sells them under there own name. Once you've towed any sizable trailer with these, you'll wonder how you ever managed with anything else. Mine are the power, but not heated (which is what my factory mirrors were). I paid $299, plus shipping of about $15. Installation really is a snap, and man oh man do you have a LOT more mirror to look at!"

"They are nice, BUT..... mine vibrate horribly at times and they are on tight as I dare go. Should get more for almost $400."

"I had a vibration problem with my passenger side mirror. I reported this to the vendor I bought from and CIPA immediately shipped me a replacement, no questions asked. I would be checking with the store/catalog/vendor you bought from as the vibration has been a reported problem taken care of under warranty by several people."

One more update:

 

"Blunote, Problem solved today. I got to thinking about the vibration I have with the mirrors and was wondering why they seem fairly solid when driving slow on bumpy roads but vibrate when I cruise on smooth roads. Decided to take the EGR deflector off and give it a try. Well.... that deflector looked #### good up there but without it the mirrors are as solid as I suppose they where designed to be. There is some movement at speeds over 65mph, but nothing like before. Now the question is what deflector is available that dosen't cause so much tubulance and is it available in carbon fiber?"
