ok guys. i have an 07 New Body Style and it does not have stabilitrak. I want to hook up my prodigy controller. I know on a lot of trucks, like my dads 05 2500HD Duramax, he only needed a short wire harness to go from a clip in the dash, to his controller. is that the same with my truck? my truck came with the tow package from the factory. Thanks!!! i need to get this hooked up soon.

There should be a bundle of wires taped up under the dash near the brake pedal. It took be about 15 minutes to install my P3.

Thx for the info! Ordering plug n pllay harness of etrailer now!

These trucks do not have a plug and play harness. There is a bundle of blunt cut wires under the dash by the column that you unravel and connect your trailer brake controller to. There is also a wire under the hood that needs have a connector put on and hooked up to one of the terminals (cant remember which one) on the underhood fuse box front side.

the harness im ordering is like that. i didnt mean plug n play, i meant the harness that doesnt need the wiers ran to the back of the truck. that sucked doing that to my 98.

and i also ordered this!

Trailer Connector Adapter, 7 Pole to 7 Pole, 5 Pole, 4 Pole and Cigarette Lighter

Thats the 2007 OBS. The 2007+ NBS no longer has that connector by the e-brake. It's just a bundle of wires under the dash that needs to be connected to your brake controller as posted above.

You'll also need one of those oversized fuses to supply power to the trailer connector. There should be a really nice install faq on this site for that. I used it for mine.

thx for all the help. the HOW-TO was perfect and very helpful!!!

No problem. It's probably due to a cost cutting measure. I didn't use a controller on my GMT-800, and drove teh truck for 8 years with that pigtail in the glovebox. Then I buy a GMT-900, and need it and its gone.

If I was to guess, majority of the customers don't install a controller, so they save a couple of bucks per truck by leaving it as just wires.
