2001 1500hd, Electrical Issues

This truck has been great overall for the last 100K that I have owner it, has about 190K on the clock now. Earlier this year, the blower motor stopped working, only to find out that the Blower motor is fine, but some where along the electrica path it is not getting power. After alot of trouble shooting and a blower module replacement (auto climate control, does not have blower motor resistor) I think the issue is in the AC control head fan switch. Still not certain of that, so it has not been fixed.

Now, a few nights ago, I realized that my fog lights will not come on. Fuses and relays are good. The little indicator light next tot he bottom will not light up either. About that same time, a realized that the chime that lets you know that your lights were left on does not work either... Can this chime and the inoperable fog lights be related. If so, or even if not, what needs to be replaced for the lights to work? Bad switch maybe???

I am getting concerned that there is a gremlin in the electrical on this truck and it is spreading. Are these some common issues and if so where is the most likely place to look to find the issues, repair the source fo the problem and fix this for good and keep it from spreading?

I am mechanically inclined and can fix anything I have taken apart. Just point me in the right direction to find this issue and provide any advice you feel is important. My time is limited and I do not want to spend the next two weeks chasing this is I can help it...

Thanks

Is the dinger that warns of headlights turned on not coming on because the dash light dimmer is at the lowest setting? Because when it's at the lowest setting, the dinger will not warn. Are your high beams on when you turn the fogs on, high + fogs = no go. I don't use the a/c, so I don't know what's wrong with the blower motor.

No, the dimmer is at the highest, I like to see the instrument panel at night. Also, no FOG lights at all, high or low beam. I know they do not work on high beam, but out of head scratching, I have done the high/low fliparroo to verify no fog lights, and result was nottaaa...

I guess the next step is to pull the multimeter out and begin taking the dash apart for troubleshooting...

01 2500hd, fog lights powered by a 15 ampfuse which powers a fog lamp relay. both located in underhood junction block. if you have a bad relay, that could cause your problem. you could try swapping relays w a known good one. relay also power the headlamps. so turn your low beams on. find that relay. pull it. low beams should go out. no trythat relay in the fog lamp spot. they are all located in the underhood fuse/relay box...
