My First Mod!

Hello everyone!

I borrowed some ideas, and performed the antenna delete. Thanks for all the good tips. I have a temporary bracket in place now, but, I've pulled measurements for it, and getting my machinist brother to make me up a polished aluminum bracket to replace.

The good news - you can't see the bracket at all currently...

The bad news - when its done, you won't be able to see the cool new bracket!

First mod completed - 27 Miles (if you count removing the dealership badges)

First Real Mod: 578 miles

Next Mod: D.I.C. Panel, followed by a new jump seat...

Hello,

My solution was to take a Heyco Nylon hole plug and trim the underside slightly. That way it would fit in the slotted hole of the antenna nicely, and provide me a bit of glue space.

I used 2 small drops of super glue, along with a touch of silicone. My logic was that I could cut the superglue spots from underneath, and the silicone provided weatherproofing.

This way, if I ever wanted to undo it, I could easily do so.

Here's a link to the plug - the top covers the hole nicely. Its also nearly the same texture - harder to tell in the picture.

Cost - $.07 (they wanted to charge me $2.50 shipping to the nearest store, I laughed, and told them I'd find another place).

I lied...

I found some old black vinyl from my last project, and messed around for a few.

I'm going to have to re-do it during the daylight when I can see what I am doing, but, I think this is going to be on the plate for tomorrow:
