Good Muffler For 04 Silverado?

Recommended Posts

Im pretty new with trucks, I was never really into cars or anything until I was convinced into a 2004 Silverado 5.3 Vortec V8 2wd ext cab last summer after totaling my car and now I'm Mr. Chevy redneck, Nascar man. My truck is completely stock and has 50k on it. I hear other trucks that have awesome, bada$$ roars as they try to dust me at every traffic light. I'm looking for an aggressive sound and was thinking about going with the Flowmaster 40 series with the double pipes out the back. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks, I appreciate it.

i say flowmaster 40 series. everyone on here will say corsa or magnaflow. but with flowmaster you get the highly agressive sound, but it drones a lil at certain rpms. you opened up a can of worms hope you are prepared. u have a 40 series on my 04 sierra dumpin before the axle and i love the sound

Ok nice, nice. I'm just lookin to turn heads haha... The dude's trucks around where I live are badass sounding and I figure I have the same size engine as they do ya know?I was at a local shop today and thats what the tech told me was that flowmaster 40 is the loudest besides glasspacks and they said they would order the parts or whatever and put in a "true dual" 40 series with 2.5 inch tips for $450. Is that a good price if they weld everything?

Its just that Flowmaster is the least free flowing of all the cat-backs and they are not stainnless. Then there is the drone....

I'm new when it comes to this but is freeflowing good? And does stainless sound better? Thanks...

well thats about right i was gonna get true dual 3" flows for 400 with stainless 4" tips

you would splooge down here in nw florida. you have the rednecks and the military guys like myself who dump money into their trucks. i also prefer dumps. ita a lil quieter because its dumping under the truck but it still sounds mean. and it looks cleaner. you dont see any piping
