Anyone Here Good At Building Things?

Hey everybody. Trying to make a nice target holder for trips to the gun range. Its an outdoor range so you must provide/bring your own things to shoot at haha

 

So, since i will be using My 30-06, 12g (...slugs anyway), and my S&W model 36; im trying to make a basic sort of frame that will do it all.

 

I already made a 6ft x 22in rectangular frame out of some stud-wood ( insert joke here haha) And its pretty sturdy already...looks like some kind of door frame right now. My problem is trying to make a base for it. It needs a good base. Im thinking an open base would work best...kind of like an "H" (when seen from above) with the frame being the middle with some additional 45degree supports on the legs of the "H".

 

 

But heck, im no builder haha! I plan on using it often and hopefully it will last. I aways end up making something then ill decide that i dont like it, tear it apart and need to make another trip to Home Depot.

You just need better friends with long arms. It's easier to get them to be a target holder if they drink heavily BTW.

The target range i got to has wooden frames that you staple a target to and then you drop the wooden frame into pvc pipes which are inserted into the ground at 25 yard increments
