Ac Evaporator Core- Black Box Under Dash

Hello, I've got a 2001 2500HD. It is not a dual climate system. There are cracks in the black housing which are letting cold air out into the glove box, vs through the vents.. Big cracks.. As in the guy that owned the truck before me, must have kicked it hard or something?

 

Anyway, I don't know what I could use to seal it up? So, I was looking for a new core box. My question is, will a 2003 Silverado unit work in an 01? I found it on ebay? #320324849094.
