Steering Wheel Control Backlights

Some of the steering wheel control button backlights are burned out on my '04 Suburban. Any advice on replacing the lights? Is it possible and how are the control button removed to get to the lights?

Bulbs are soldered in, if you are good with an iron and solder - go for it. to remove the buttons - insert a thin flat screw driver and wiggle the button out (take your time)

Really? Soldered? That's a bummer. I've lost two of mine also and I was hoping for an easier fix. Thanks.

He says that he replaces the backlights but does not say if he uses LEDs or not but I would assume based on his warranty. His rep is pretty good and he has been in business for 4 years...
