Automatic Headlights

hi, i just bought a 2001 gmc 2500hd.how do you shutoff the automatic headlight system. other than pushing the dome override switch 4 times .help

Are you saying your lights are on all the time during daylight hours? If so, replace the ambient light sensor on the top of the dashboard. Procedure.

 

If you're wanting to permanently kill auto headlights you can follow this procedure.

Alot of times the little "R2D2" droid (light sensor) on top of the dash breaks thru and falls into the dash. If that is what happened, you can retrieve it by pulling out the radio, usually it's hanging down by there.

Maybe your R2D2 light sensor is detecting imperial droids and purposely breaks through your dash and hides down by the radio? LOL.

WELL THANKS GUYS./ HAS ANYONE OUT THEAR TRYED THE INFO IN THE LINK WITH THE RRSISTOR.I MIGHT GIVE IT A TRY.

Yep, I have and it works for me with a 1.5k resistor in place of the photoresistor on the dash. Works like a charm, no auto heads for me!
