Where Is The Motor For The Mirror 05 2500hd

[Duse]

Driver side mirror stopped working so I was at the dealer and asked them to check it out.

The motor is shot and thier price is $800 just for the motor .

My question is ..............

Is the motor for the mirror in the mirror?

If so I'll just pick up a set of tow mirrors for half the price.

You'd be better off buying a new mirror. The motor is in the mirror. And people wonder why they call them Stealerships. Thats just nuts. I don't understand why dealerships feel like they've gotta rape you. They'd get so much more work if their prices were reasonable.

Did you check e-bay? A few vendors have genuine GM mirror motors (now discontinued) for $69 bucks !

You have the regular DL-8 mirrors?

I have some power extending, turn signal in the glass, auto-dimming driver side, set of tow mirrors that I took off my 2005 Silverado extended cab. Let me know if your interested and I will send you some pics.

DUSE.....................Do a google on DL-3 mirror/motor.

I found one of them also but thought you had a dl-8 mirror

so didn't post the link to it! Also discontinued and $69 bucks!
