K guy, I need some help. I took out the console in my 04 and replaced it with a seat. I left the amp under the new seat and I thought everthing was great. But, I just noticed the back speakers in the doors don't work. How are those wired up? By messing around with the amp, did I by chance disconnect them, or are they wired to the speakers in the front doors? They work fine by the way.

Yes to both accounts. The amp is plugged in and yes, the console had rear speaker controls. I just assumed that was for the speaker in the console and not the doors. That would make sense now. Is there an easy way of wiring those back door speakers into the fronts speakers so they work also?

If you wired your rears into the fronts you would overload those channels on the amp. What does your rear console do, I was just going off of memory? A quick and dirty way would be to take the control panel out of the console and plug it back in and hide it under the jump seat.

Would have to know more about what it does, could you post pictures of the control panel and then maybe the back (connectors)?

The unit in your center console controls your rear speakers, our 2004 tahoe has the same thing, if the rear unit isnt in use, the speakers default to front stereo, if it isnt there at all, you killed the connection. You may be able to wire them into the rear channels in your head unit (They should exist) Or just go for an aftermarket head unit. I would anyways, Ive had a lot of issues with my Tahoe, and it has Bose and a TV and all that. It just made issues down the line.
