Michelin Ltz A/t2 Vs. Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Hey everybody, I have a 2005 Suburban Z71, and within a few months I'll be needing some new tires. And with the tires Ill be adding a 1" rear spacer and cranking either GM white keys or Ford F150 keys. Ill also be getting longer shocks (Bilstein 5100s).

Anyway, I cant decide which tires I want. The only ones Im considering are Michelin LTX A/T 2, Michelin LTX M/S 2, and Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. The size I would get is 285/70/17. Has anyone here had any of the 3? I currently have Michelin M/S, and couldnt say a single bad thing about them. They handle every situation brilliantly.

The only downside to the M/S 2 is that they dont look very aggressive, but if they wind up being the best of the 3 I'll willingly choose them. Ive read the Michelins have softer side walls though. Ive read mixed reviews about both, so I thought I'd finally ask the question myself.

What do people here prefer out of these 3 choices? (Also, D rating is the typical rating for my truck, right?)

Thanks a million!

i have goodyear silent armor on all 3 of my trucks and they are a very good performing tire. they actually have kevlar in them hence then name armor. on the trucks i dont abuse they are holding up very well but after about 6,000 miles on my silverado they are showing some wear and tear but i beat the shit out of them, drift, offroad, all that stuff. but they perform great on road and are suprisingly not bad offroad.

I had the goodyears on my 02 Z71 and I loved them. They road great on the street and on the deer lease I have no complaints. I would put them on my 09 4x4 but they don't make the size I want in 20's. I'm looking to go with the Michelins or Toyos for this truck.

I have the Michelin LTX A/T2 in LT 285/70/17. they ride good and wear is minimal for how many miles I've had them installed. I'm not real fond of the road noise but I installed them on a 2005 Sierra Crew Cab 1500 Z71. I wish I had stuck with the Bridgestone Dueler AT REVO in that size instead.

Are you saying the LTX's are noisy? The Goodyear Silent armors were just that, silent for me. I also don't care for tire noise

I do believe the LTX A/T2 tires I have now are too noisy. My wife even complains about them, so I installed the GMPP performance exhaust system and now I don't hear them unless I have the window down and it's in 4th gear and the exhaust is just purring.
