This may have been discussed before but I couldn't pin down an exact answer using the search function.I'd like to put HIDs in my High beams only because I don't want to deal with all the issues related to the DRLs raising hell with the HIDs.Does anybody here have HIDs in their High beams only and are they working OK.Is this worthwhile? Thanks for any help/advice.-Andy.

There would be no problems doing this. I would highly reccomend running a relay harness with them too. Also if you haven't found a brand yet, I would highly reccomend DDM Tuning, as would many others on here, they are the best bang for your buck, and have a very good warranty

just pull out those 2 fuses under the hood and the DRLs are gone. I just installed my HIDs last week. DDM 55W 4500K kit. Id go with them in your lows tho. It takes a few secconds for the HIDs to warm up and come to full brightness. And one of the things HIDs done like are frequently being turned on and off. So if your going to be turning on your highs at night and constantly turning off and on when cars come by you it may not be the best for the kit. your call tho IMO put them in the lows and yank the fuses.

Thanks man.Can you tell me which fuses to pull? I'll probably end up going with the high and low beams.

Guys on here really seem to like DDM.I bought my HIDs for my fogs at BFXenon. While they were a little pricier than DDM the quality is top shelf.

Right next to the battery is the box. Pop the cover off and there is a diagram that will show you where. There will be 2 fuses i believe they are blue.

HID's in highs are pretty worthless because HID's take about 5-10 seconds to reach full brightness. Plus as mentioned above, you don't want to be turning them on and off constantly. Besides all that, there is nothing to focus that light in the lower reflector (or really the top for that matter but the lower is worse for the lack of glare shield) and the light will be scattered everywhere, losing a lot of intensity.

Also, go with a lower kelvin rating. 4300K is OEM spec. It puts out more visible light.

Id go with the 55W kit thats what i have. If you want white get 4500k or 5k not much diff. If you want that hint of blue go with 6k. For driveability id stay within 4500k-6k.

I do have HID's from ddm in my highs and i like them alot. Right now im talking with them trying to figure out if their kits will work in my combine. They are pretty good to deal with.

when u have HID you dont really need highs at all! But the reason why im getting HID's for my highs is for when im on back roads late at night and want it to look day light ;)
