Oem Nave Compared To Aftermarket Navs

Hey guys, I have a pioneer avic x910 nav unit in my truck right now. Was wondering how the factory nav would compare in quality, POI's and accuracy?

I don't know about the after market units. My 09 disc in my truck's factory nav still lists business that have been closed as many as 5 years. I don't know what an after market unit costs, but I would opt for a hand held unit next time.

I have an '09 Tahoe and IMHO the OEM NAV is at least five years behind any aftermarket in look and feel, ease of use, etc. I am looking into the best replacement now (probably a Z120BT). There are many that like the OEM so to each his own. I curse the POI lookup every time I use it because it gives me locations hundreds of miles away first in the list. :) The only advantages (again IMHO) is the integration with the vehicle, accuracy of the OEM NAV is good and BT works well.

I just bought a GMC Sierra 3500 with the nav unit. It was a waste of $2500. bucks. The mygig in my 2007 Jeep kicks butt compared to this.

My '07 came with the nav (purchased truck 2nd-hand). I like it a lot, it's great that it's integrated et all.

However, comparing the interface and the touch/feel of my much lower price Garmin, I would choose the Garmin.

i use it and it gets me places. Nicest part of it is the integration. However my 3 year old garmin is better as far as the points of interest go and for a hundred bucks I can update it 4 times a year for as long as it keeps working! I live in WI and I search for Pizza Hut and it brings up Pizza Hut in Iowa. WTF? And its like 200 or 300 bucks to get it updated and my passenger cannot mess with it while driving unless I get something to hack it? It definitely leaves a lot to be desired, at least the one in my 2007 truck does.
