The '85 Gets Put To Rest.....

I am hauling of my 1985 GMC High Sierra today. I have owned it since February of '02. I haven't driven it regularly since 2008, and I think I am finally ready to let her go....*Sigh* Been a good ol' truck. I worked it to death and then it has rusted in my back yard since. It truly was an ALL PURPOSE vehicle. I pushed with it, pulled with it, drag raced my buddies Dodge a couple of times, its almost hauled its own weight in the bed at one point (3700lbs, pretty good for a 1/2 ton!), my g/f drove it out in the field to her harvesting family, I took it through the mud, I buried it in snow, ran it out of oil and water on the way to work one night (it still got me there, and put new in it in the morning...not a problem after that), and its kinda been a good friend to me for about 8yrs.. I am gonna miss her.

what are you gonna replace it with? its hard to get rid of your truck sometimes. i was depressed when i realized what i did, sold my 1999 Sierra 3500 dually becasue it was falling apart and awful on gas. should of fixed it!

Stevens07- Its headed for Macks twin city auto recycling, they are paying $250 for her

That's how my 92 is.... Every time I want to get rid of her for a 2500 crew diesel, I get a thumbs down from everyone in the house. Just hauled the boat off to storage yesterday with him, that old truck is like a pair of comfy jeans or boots.

 

I think you should drop a hot 454 in there and tear shiz up....

It needs new tires, rotors, calipers, pads, shoes, and has fuel issues. Its quite rusted out as well. The plate is almost 3 yrs out of date. I just don't have time to put into it, and I really don't have the money either. I hate to see it go, but I will never forget that truck!
