Blackbear Tune

I pulled the trigger and got the autocal and tune from Blackbear for my 07 GMC 2500HD 6.0 six spd auto. I logged some data on the autocal, and sent my data and factory tunes (1 for motor, 1 for trans) to Justin. After telling him what I wanted, I received 4 tunes via email. One for 92oct, one for 87oct. Two trans tunes, one sport, one daily driver. Justin removed the Tourqe management from the engine tunes, and the Traction management from the Trans tunes.

The difference is VERY noticable. The truck runs as it should have from the factory. No more sluggish acceleration, and sloppy, long shifts. The motor runs strong and smooth now. The shifts are firm, but not hard. The seat of the pants dyno says "YES" !

So far I'm VERY impressed! I'm currently running a few tanks thru it on the 92 oct tune, and checking mileage. So far, its about the same as pre-tune. Next I will run the 87 oct, and check that for mpg's. I didnt get the tune for mileage, but for perfomance and to get rid of "Gm's nanny", so the truck so it wouldn't pull timing and fuel everytime a wheel spins when I'm out snowplowing.

I have some exp with tuning and dyno's from my 04 GTO. I was a bit leary about a mail order tune, but I'm very happy I chose the Blackbear tunes. If you are on the fence post about Blackbear, as I was, DO IT!

The turn around time from Justin was good, Even tho I sent the data on the day his new baby arrived!

Overall, the Blackbear experience so far is a 10 out of 10 for me.

Thanks Justin! :)

I would also like to chime in and say thanks to Justin/Jenna. I'm very pleased with the Autocal. I've had it for about a month and I must say it's much more responsive, even surprised me a couple of times at first with the accelaration. One question though, was thinking of getting a mac computer. can I transfer my files onto it?

I have been nothing but perfectly pleased with the BB tune on my truck. I'd recommend it to anybody.

Thanks Justin!

After a few tanks of gas and putting some miles on the truck I've found the gas mileage to be close to the same as un-tuned.

Overall, this is the best money I've spent on my truck. Its a completely different truck to drive post tuning. The grin factor is excessive.

Customer service has been awesome to.

Thanks Justin and Jenna! It's refreshing to know there are still people out there that deliver what they promise.
