Replace Outside Mirrors - Trailer Mirrors Back To Std

I have a 2007 GMC Yukon XL SLT with factory mounted outside trailer towing mirrors. It was a $75.00 package upgrade. We are very happy with the purchase of this used Yukon XL and it replaces our old 2001 GMC Yukon SLT. While the trailer mirrors are great - they are just too wide.

These current mirrors have the integrated turn signal. Looks like option code DPN. This DPN abbreviation appears on the tag in the glovebox and I understand it is important.

I tracked down std mirrors with indicator arrows from a 2007 GMC 3/4 ton. It was a guy who went from standard to trailer mirrors. To bad we didn't talk before he ordered his trailer mirrors. Before purchasing, I confirmed the interior door panel configuration matched to my Yukon XL. These replacement mirrors have two 10 pin plugs (one black, one blue). So happens he dropped off the mirrors in the GM box for his wide trailer mirrors - looks like one of his new GM trailer mirrors carried the part # 15904034.

I had a local Autobody shop open the door panel and check - they advise I have the wrong mirrors. I was there when the electrical connection was out in the open. There was a series of say 8 places to plug in on the bottom of the switch - my contact at the bodyshop was away that day and I am thinking that the young guy might just not have known his stuff. The fittings appeared to match.

My previous visit to the local GM dealer parts department was not the best trip - I learned that there are many mirrors available in the system for my Yukon and with electric parts - I could not return. Other research so far - it appears that door modules may be built into this truck and door module calibrations will need to be changed. Something that appears must done by the dealer.

Before I go any further with this - does someone have insight into this mirror replacement on my 2007 Yukon XL ? looking to confirm the right part # for the standard replacement mirror and confirm the used mirrors that we tracked down to fit are duds!

The used mirrors I have have the following information part # info -

Is your Yukon the 800 or 900 series? And is the truck the standard style mirrors from a 800 or 900 model?

Only thing I can think is you have one model, and he has the other.

Good luck!

For checking the web, I have updated GMT 900 series. With the used mirrors - thought by checking inside door switches - we had the right ones -

From doing a search with the 15904034 part # you posted, it appears that tow mirror is for the 800 trucks, the 99-06(07 "classic"). So it looks like you may have the wrong standard style mirrors from what info I found.
