Starts Then Stalls Out

Recommended Posts

Have a 92 GMC 1/2T with the 305, Throttle Body,

will start fine then a few seconds later stalls out.

Leaning towards the fuel pump, what pressure should

it be putting out, same as Fuel Injection 40-50?

Where is the test point for hooking up a Pressure Guage?

the fuel pressure on these throttle body injection (TBI) engines like your '92 should be in the range of 10 to 13 psi.... with very little tolerance on the low end... 8 or 9 psi may start to cause problems....

the Vortec engines ('96 to '98) on the other hand should have 61 to 66 psi....

I am not real familiar with the TBI units, but I believe there is no specific test port (like the Vortecs have) ... you may need to hook up a fuel pressure guage in the fuel line ...

check or change your fuel filter .. in line attached to the frame on the drivers side behind the cab

also check for the condition or pattern of spray from the two injectors in the throttle body .. both should look like smooth even flow when the accelerator is applied...
