I was towing the sleds today also to spray off the trailer hence when he made the comment. heading to dealer to chat now and schedule an appt. We just got back fom Canada and listened to it for 6 hours

I am taking mine down today just to chat with them and make an appt. If a tech can take a quick ride I will let you know what he says. My buddy rode in teh truck today and he said man sounds like you already installed a S/C. I said oh ya that's it :wtf:

well ive come to the conclusion that my noise is related to the charging system.....there is obviously a problem.....dealer said the battery was low so they charged it up for me

they blamed the low battery on the long stretch of cold weather, which I find as BS.....i drive my truck everyday and it was 50 degrees today plus ii drove the truck 100km.....the truck should have fully charged the battery in that time, yet when I shut it off, and put the key in the ON position, the low battery warning came on within 30 seconds

funny tho, my truck made the noise all the way to the dealer but when i got there it stopped.....last week when towing the sleds my buddy asked me the same thing....he thought i had a leak of some sort

Funny you should mention the charging issue. I've been hearing a noise at 2100 rpm in my Corvette that sounds a little like someone breathing or an A/C moan but happens all the time regardless of A/C setting. This winter I bought a battery tender and put it on the car last week not thinking the noise had anything to do with the charging system. I took the car down to the dealer to have them look at it but i could not reproduce the noise when the battery was fully charged. I don't understand how that would make a noise but it seems to be true.

Snakee truck is at dealers now. I will update when I hear from them. First thing he said this AM is I bet it is your radio. Is your system stock? Mine is not

Posted

Stock radio and its definitely not the radio. Nor is it the aftermarket overhead dvd player (I completely unhooked it and the noise still there)

After 3000rpm I have a whine under the hood (sounds like the alternator) and its getting louder

I have another appointment tomorrow am

I will have them un hook the radio if they point their finger at that. The tech said that is coming from your speakers and I said no it is not. He said he will look and get back with me.

Well they are telling me GM is telling them to pull every module and speaker in the car one by one. So we will see. They are keeping the car and fixing the front bumper. I had posted up some pics of rust and they are repairing those.

New news snarkee they said the tech narrowed it down to the AMP. They have one on order and will have it installed when it comes out of body shop Thr. They are fixing bumper under warranty.

I will update you on Thr when they install new AMP. I am assuming the AMP is up under the dash somewhere.

interesting......i HOPE mine acts up tomorrow

I am not sure if the non bose has an amp. My guess is it would. I swear my noise is coming thru firewall but tech insists coming from speakers. We will see on thr. When your truck is just idling in park will it whine when u step on the gas?

It does make the noise with radio off. Mine is the same as yours around 2500 and up. But it does it while in park to if I hit the gas.

Funny when I called he said the tech has been on the pohne with the audio dept all day and no ideas besides keeping the truck for days and just start pulling things. He said they have had sme compliants but not enough too look into it. I get there 30 mins later and they said we think it is your amp. Said they will put a new one in Thr. Find it hard to believe that is it but maybe.

Maybe call the dealer and ask if you have an amp. I thught mine was coming from firewall also but maybe not. Anyways they set me up with a loaner till they figure it out and fix the bumper.

Let me know on the AMP

    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
    • Thanks for posting, I'm sure it will help someone
    • New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
    • So, GMCustomerService:  Judging by the Update History pictured above, is this truck missing any updates that it actually needs. If it's just for the infotainment system, the radio is working fine and no trouble with SeriusXM. and Android Auto is working fine wirelessly with my phone. Some months ago, an update notice was sent to my truck. I approved the update and it finished saying that the update was successful, but it seems that whatever that update was, it didn't actually get installed - at least not if I'm to go by the Update History shown above.   So, again, are there any updates that this truck really should have? I've checked with my dealer but they're reluctant or commit to anything and if I want them to check, they require a $200.00 fee just to check it out and then I'd have to pay for the actual update(s).    Ignorance is bliss, and if none of the updates goes to fixing any mechanical discrepancies, I'll just leave things as is.
