Amp Gauge Fluctuates

What would cause my amp gauge to fluctuate and my headlights, fan etc to fluctuate in time with the amp gauge then after a few minutes stop

Battery charging then once the battery voltage comes up the alternator is able to carry the load of the lights/rest of the truck ok?

 

Stock truck or do you have aftermarket audio system or extra lights?

 

If you are noticing this in the fan speed then you probably ought be checking your battery connections, alternator belt for slippage, get your battery tested, and get your alternator tested.
