Remote Start/alarm Options And Recommendations?

I was considering pricing and adding the factory remote start to my truck but then got to thinking that I might like to have an alarm system installed too because from what I hear the Z71's are a pretty popular item around here for the thieves.

 

So I have a few questions:

 

Should I go with the factory remote system and add an anti-theft alarm?

 

Or should I just go buy an aftermarket system that does both?

 

If I go with an after market system does anyone have recommendations on brand or even particular systems?

Get the factory remote start programed then get a viper 5901 and the interface module that uses the factory remote start so heater, heated seats come on when cold automatically. The 5901 is two way up to a mile.

I would highly reccomend a Viper unit. I have the 5301 which is remote start and keyless entry only. But If I wanted an alarm to, I'd for sure go with the 5901 and probably add glass break and proximity sensors. Also the interface available makes the install much easier and is very nice to have the heated seats and stuff come on also

Will the heat come on when cold even if I don't have the automatic climate controls?
