wondering how id wire up a set of auxillary lights to come on with my high beams? ive got the 6 headlight mod already done and id like even more light when the high beams come on, its bright now but im greedy i wont lie

so would this be as simple as taking a wire and feeding it into one of the slots for the high beam relay and having that wire power a relay for auxillary lights?

Several ways to do it, but in the end, you'll need to use a relay for the extra set of lights.

I have aux lights on my truck as well, which come on with the highbeams (I have a switch in-line as well so I can choose if the aux lights come on or not). I used a fuse-tap on the high-beam fuse, connected to a relay that provides the power for the aux lights. Thus the high-beams will trip the relay, but are not powering the lights.

by auxilary do you mean like off-road lights? why not put them on a dedicated switch so you can put them on whenever you want? technically off-road are illegal for on-road use..... i know you said with your high beams, but imo dedicated switch be better.

thanks for the replies, the same way i planned on running it, and i think itll get a switch to keep it off for when i dont need it but i want to draw power from the high beams still i think. as for legal or not, where i live more then 4 forward facing lights are illegasl for the 6 headlight mod technically isnt legal. so what are 2 more lights that harness the power of the sun

you don't want it drawing power from the high beams.. you want to supply power directly from the posts on the fuse box or from the battery, you want the high beam switch to act simply to activate the relay, nothing more..

86s in this diagram would be the high beam connection, and 87B would be the main power from the battery/fuse box..

if you are going to run a 2 pole switch, then split the line from 86s, high beam wire to switch, switch back out to 86s, this will allow you to kill the off road lights when you have the high beams on if you so choose.

thanks for the diagram. thats the same way i was gonna do it, use the high beam power wire from the fuse box to trigger the aux lights but have them taking power through a relay right from the battery. thanks for the picture and the help ill save it as im sure itll come in handy soon
