Squealing Drivers Window

In my 07 Yukon the drivers window squeals very loud when the glass is lowered either manually or express down. It was fixed once by the dealer and they advised they cleaned and lubricated the glass guides but its back again very loud.

I will now have to repair myself and was just wondering what lubricant is OK to spray on the window guides?

Liquid silicone?

Yes some silicon spray should work. Might try to take some rubbing alcohol on a rag and clean the weatherstripping strip across the window before lubing.

I have this very same problem. I will give that silicon grease a try.

So you apply it to the rubber window stripping along where the window comes out of the door? Will that not smear onto the window when it is brought up?

What type of silicone grease did you purchase?

Actually it was given to me at GM by one of the mechanics that I'm friends with, when I was replacing the rubber seal on my sunroof. He said to used it to slide the rubber onto the glass, worked like a charm.

It's "CRC Heavy Duty Silicone Multi-use Lubricant". Its a pretty "thin" liquid when applied..

Tried it, much better but still squeaks.

Just so I'm clear the spray goes into the window guides that run vertically on the frame of the door with felt material inside?

I'm thinking it goes on the rubber molding that runs horizontal at the top of the door where the window comes out of. That's where mine sounds like its squealing from.
