It's just like the one mc7719 (topic starter) has build in (the top one). Only the partnumber is different.

Yes, the friendly lady is listing the options that I had before I've changed the VCIM. So, it's not communicating properly with the VCIM.

I'm afraid I've waisted 200+ dollars on a aluminum box.... :dunno:

Yeah, that looks right, I got nothing, sorry...

I have been mailing with the seller on Ebay and he suggests I'll find someone with GM Tech II software and a OBD2 interface to reprogram the system to have my VCIM working. Now an OBD2 interface cable is not an issue, but the software is. Perhaps someone knows where to download it?

Thanks in advance.

I have an 07 Yukon slt. I am pulling my hair out trying to vcim swap for Bluetooth. I first bought part number 20842731. After plugging it in I had a green light but I could not connect to on star or Bluetooth. I pressed the talk button as well as on star button on mirror but didn't get anything. After thinking I had the wrong part number I bought 25984444 and installed it. Same thing happened. can someone help me please?

Hmm, I have bought the same VCIM, but it's no plug and play for me. I still haven't found an engineer who is capable of programming this for me. Here in Holland, these cars are not that common.

But I'm glad you have it working. And that I know that the VCIM is a good on

Thanks. That really sucks you would think its not that difficult to program hopefully you can get it to work. I thought the only reason for programing was to get full function of the on star.

Hey MC7719,

First time on this/any other forum.

I'm in Calgary and am having a hard time finding a VCIM for my truck.

I have all the pre-req's just can't find the module w/ Bluetooth. Any help would be great.

I understand the following will work.

25984444, 20783877, 20829984, 20756237, 20827036

Thanks!

What year is your truck? In your profile it shows a 2007 truck, could you maybe not have a GMT900?

A 2007 truck. What do you mean with GMT900 and how can I check this?

In 2007 they had two different versions of Sierra/Silverado. They sold one as being the Classic model, and the other as just Sierra or Silverado. I doubt the Classic model will support bluetooth due to version of the "GMlan CANbus"(not sure on the correct term, but it means the level of the software/hardware in they truck) in the truck. I am sure someone with more knowledge of the proper terms will chime in.

Oh, that difference... Well, my Sierra is not the Classic one; the Denali version is only available as of 2007. And it's equipped with the proper version of CANbus.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the posts and recommendations in this thread!! After a lot of research I ordered 20787107 w/bluetooth chip already installed off E-Bay for under $200. I was a little worried because it was listed as "removed out of an 08-10 SAAB" but the cross references matched to other trucks and other E-bay sales. So, I took a chance and it WORKS! The OnStar light is now out (not red) and when I push the blue button it says the account is inactive. I don't plan on using OnStar anyway but I figured I will give it a whirl tomorrow. The truck is being dropped at the dealer so they can install the backup camera I had them toss in with the deal so if there is any programming to be done it will all be done at the same time.

Anyway, tickled pink that bluetooth works! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I'd also like to pass my thanks along to all of those who added their information on swapping out the VCIM.

Special thanks to mc7719 for your pics, info, etc.

After a lenghty search, with the help of www.car-part.com I found 20783877 at a recycler in Cumberland BC for $150.

It didn't have the antenna, dealer wanted $94, so I went back online and found a guy in Kalimazoo who had purchased a bunch of modules when GM stopped production of the Hummer. Got it shipped to the door for $38.

There's a guy in Calgary with one, if any one is looking, search kijiji its.... VCIM 20829984

And here's the contact info for the guy in kalamazoo. He's asking $250 w/ the antenna on brand new units.
