Knock Sensor Pigtail

Hello, I'm hopeing for a bit of help, I'm wondering if this is the connector for the knock sensors, I have attached a pic for your viewing pleasure <g>

 

it is a 2005 4*4 5.3l z71 I have a low voltage code to sensor 2 nbut played with some wire and it had gone out, 37 miles later it came back on, the engine is pretty darn quiet

Yes, that is the connector for the knock sensors. You probably have some water down in the holes for the sensors and getting corroded up. Very typical problem with them. Good Luck!

Thanks, when I take that pigtail apart it has water in it, I dried it out Sunday, and yesterday the water was back in the pigtail, I assume the senors go down into a water jacket then, for it to have water back in the pigtail the next day thanks for your help!

Thanks, when I take that pigtail apart it has water in it, I dried it out Sunday, and yesterday the water was back in the pigtail, I assume the senors go down into a water jacket then, for it to have water back in the pigtail the next day thanks for your help!

 

No they are not immersed in water, in a water jacket. The sockets they set in can get water/moisture in them from washing the engine etc....
