Been lurking for awhile, since I ordered my truck today, I thought I'd say hi

Ordered a Storm Grey Metallic SLE Crew Cab - 4x4, Z71, 5.3

Hoping it doesn't get here too soon - my CTS lease is up in March.

I had an account on here already (PygmySurfer) - but I can't remember the password, and the email address associated with it is long gone.

Welcome Back.

How do you like the CTS? The new ones look so much better than they did few years ago.

Honestly, I'm not all that impressed with it. It's got the 3.6 DI, and a manual transmission. The manual is crap - very clunky to shift. I had a '05 Cobalt SS before it, and the transmission on that car was buttery smooth compared to the CTS. Actually, I've started to miss the Cobalt the further into this lease I got.

Within the first 6 months of owning the car, I got the "Engine Power Reduced" message on the DIC, and the car slowed to a crawl. Had to have a "high pressure fuel pump" replaced. 20 months in, the timing chains stretched and had to be replaced.

I love the way the car looks, the interior is great, but the powertrain is disappointing. It performs great when it's not broken  It was the first year for the new CTS, as well as the 3.6 DI, so I guess some problems were to be expected, but it's still disappointing. I'm hoping the Sierra won't be like this.

Prior to the Cobalt I had an '03 Silverado (2WD, Regular Cab, SportSide, 4.8), and before that a 2000 Sonoma (Regular Cab, SportSide, 2.2L), I didn't have any problems with those vehicles.

Me too! With the snow we've been getting, I wish I had it now
