Good Buy?

I never asked this question after I bought my truck but am still curious if I got a good deal.

 

2005 GMC Sierra SLE

4x4

73k miles

carpet bed liner

roll up bed cover

power all around

steering wheel controls

all season floor mats (not a big deal but I liked that they were in there)

a little rusting on the frame as I bought it from a guy in Salt Lake City. Nothing major though.

I paid $14,500

 

Note:

I bought it with 2 rattles. One turned out to be the int steering shaft. Fixed it myself for $50 bucks. The other turned out to be the transmission mount. Not sure what happened to it but was under there with a neighbor for the 20th time trying to find the rattle and he pushed up on the tranny and it made the sound. I bought the part and replaced it for $30. The old one was fairly rusted but I could not see any cracks or fractures anywhere. Not another rattle since. Has ran great and quiet (in the cab) ever since.

 

Again just curious. Since I have bought it I have put about $2000 into it with a camper shell and tires. Really enjoying it and loving being in a GMC.

It is a crew cab and basically totally straight. One small ding on the passanger side.

i think you got a good deal as some of the 01 and 02's with 150K+ miles are going for 8K around here, so i think you got a pretty good deal

yeah that would be the deciding factor if its a half ton or 3/4. i paid 11,500 for mine. 2005 GMC sierra SLT crew cab with about 91 thousand miles on it when i bought it. power all around, steering wheel controls, towing package...etc. but, they were asking 14,000, and its a half ton.

that is a pretty damn good deal, GMT800 crew cab 1500's are usually very expensive. you got a good deal without a doubt.

 

nothing beats $7300 for my 2003 silverado 4.8 4x4 ecsb with 79k miles perfect condition. got it from the old lady couple miles away whos husband died. i have no reason for this truck but who could pass an offer like that?

I'd say you got a good deal as well. The great thing about Utah is that while you have some wild winters, you get alot of dry heat in the summer as well, so rusting won't be too big of an issue, just keep on top of keeping her clean. Let's see some photos.

I would say that is a good buy, especially if it is a crew cab in excellent condition.
