99 Sierra O2 Sensor Removal Help

I am trying to remove the Bank2 Sensor1 sensor on a 99 Sierra. Started with a wrench but that puppy is stuck in there. I sprayed some WD40 on it a few times and am letting it soak in. Thought about going to get a O2 sensor removal socket real quick. Anyone know what size that would be? 3/8? Any tips on getting that sensor out would be appreciated as well. What about letting the truck warm up? Thanks

If you have access, use a box end wrench on it. Should give you leverage without slipping off. Trying it with it heated up might help. I've never had a problem removing O2 sensors. Knock on wood. :)

The size is 7/8ths. If you are replacing it you can cut the wires and put a deep socket over it to remove it. Use a 6point socket so as not to round off the edges of the sensor. good luck

Use a high quality penetrating oil such as Kano Kroil & let it sit for an hour or so. Once the o2 sensor breaks

loose, don't try to force it off. Work the wrench back and forth while adding the oil. If the threads are galled

together, it is going to take a lot of patience & penetrating oil.

If all else fails then heat it with a hand torch. The hotter the better.
