Just kind of curious as to what you guys do for your exercise/workout routines.  I started my workout routine just about 3 months ago. I used to lift in high school and my first year of college, but started having problems with my shoulders.  Instead of getting a cortizone (sp?) shot to take care of the problem I took the easy way out and quit lifting.  But I got the urge to start again so this is what I have been doing.

Monday (chest and arms) - Bench press, incline/decline press (dumbells), tricep extensions, concentration curls, hammer curls, wrist curls, chin ups, and dips.

Wendesday (shoulders and back) - Hang clean, military press, side lat raises, shoulder shrugs, bent-over rows, seated rows, pull ups, and some sort of crossover exercise with the shoulders that I can't remember the name.

Friday (legs) - Squats, hack squats, leg curls, seated and standing calf raises, and lunges.

I burn out on the last set of every single exercise.  Since I am trying to gain weight (not very succesfully) I don't do any cardio exercise at this time, but once I get to a certain weight I will start running on Tues/Thurs.  So what does everybody else do?

Mon - Thursday i get a nice hike to my classes.  Parking lot is always full and i end up parking miles away (ok its an exaggeration)

Sat/Sun lifting doors, windows etc is my exercise

Also on thursday nights soon i am playing in an intramural Volleyball league (gotta keep myself sane especially with so much HW) if my knee holds up.  Might be going to the doc soon (i never go to the doctor its been over 3 yrs since i went and i am putting it off)

Roller blading and wargames scenario in paintball. Running thru the woods all day along with climbing on your stomach, creeping on your back and scaling hills and etc is a full work out lol

Ride the bike to class, and work.  Keeps me in pretty good shape.

I suggest finding yourself a scoop shovel or a stack of bales that need to be moved.  You'll get your exercise in, as well as actually accomplishing something.  Thats why I have always hated lifting, nothing to show what you've done when you are threw.  You are exhausted, but that barbell is still sitting in the same place it was when you started.  Not much incentive for me to go back and do it again.

Me too.  I usually have to walk at least 1/2 a mile or so from my truck, then all around campsus and back a couple times a day.  So I get a few good miles in everyday :thumb:

I was going to include farm work on the list for weekends Jp, but I figured I would leave that off so you could post in this topic.   ;)

I know that lifting doesn't get the immediate results that moving hay bales does, but there are results.  Not only in the fact that I am lifting heavier weights, but also in the mirror....

Tuesday = All Cardio

Wednesday = Off

Thursday = Powerlifting then some light cardio

Friday = Off

Saturday = Powerlift and full cardio (time permitting)

Sunday = Off

I'm noticing that I have pain in my elbow joints when doing the forearm extension, so I may take a break from that for awhile.

I also powerwalk to and from the (train station to work) everyday which is about 1.5 miles.

Hey man, you got to tell me what you do for your powerlifting.  That could include all sorts of stuff.  Don't have to tell me everything, just the major stuff.   (sorry, I'm just kind of interested)

btw, does the pain in your elbows only happen during the exercise or is it around most of the time?  The pain in my shoulders was there from when I woke up in the morning until I fell asleep.  Not fun at all.

I primarily stick to upper body.  I know I should balance it, but my upper body is where I need it most right now so that's where I concentrate.

I do;

-Curls

-Arm extension (kinda the opposite of curling..you push out and down..this is what's hurting my elbow right now, but more on that later).

-Deltoid extension.  This is like the butterfly except you lift straight up

-Overhead extension.  This is where you pull from behind your head over and around to your chest

-Decline press

-Incline press

-Chest press

-Pulldown's

-Rowing

I switch these up too, so that I don't do repetitive work.  For instance, I don't do the incline, decline, and chest press consecutively.  I'll do decline, then go do pull down's then go back to incline, etc, etc.  I try to do between 30 - 45 reps on each machine with the exception of the chest presses (all) where I do 50-60.  I really need to tone and strengthen my pectorals which is why I do so many of these..reps baby, reps.  :cheers:

The pain I've been getting is in the joint of my elbows (both) when I do the forearm extension machine.  This is the only time I experience pain.  I'm fine on all other machines.  The arm extension is pretty much the opposite of the arm curl machine.

I also tend to push myself very hard too, cause I sometimes have a friend workout with me (he's trying to get in the Sheriff's department) and I wear him out as he tries to keep up...he thinks I'm trying to kill him.  :D

Mondays:

 Tricep crossovers, pushdowns, French press ("Nose-Busters")

Tuesdays:

 Dumbell military press, cable lateral raises, incline reverse butterflies.

Thursdays:

 Lat Pulldowns, Cable Rows, Bar/Dumbell shrugs, Dead Lift

 Zottman Curls, Standing Hammer curls, and seated "pause" curls.

Fridays:

 Leg Presses, Leg Curls, Leg extensions, Standing calf raises.

I do about 20-30 minutes of cardio each night, either treadmill or bike.

For some odd reason, after seeing your post on the hurricane thread I have no problem at all believing that.   :D

And yes Jp, 12oz curls do count for those of use that are old enough to enjoy them....  ;)

Haha, I like to live dangerously.  I wanted to go stand behind the Top Fuel dragsters this weekend when we were at the Nationals as they launch but my friend thought I already had a "Few too many" if you know what I mean.

Standing behind those 6,500hp machines launching is the equivalent of standing next to an F18 launching on the catapult on an aircraft carrier.  :cheers:

And I do 24oz curls...gotta have one 12oz in both hands.  :D

    • Here's the 2026 order guide - Vehicle Order Guide   RPO code "AS3"?  Not seeing it.  What is it supposed to be?  I see AS3 used a long time ago as some sort of seat option, but its not applicable to the current Suburban.    I see RPO code "AZ3" which is 1st row 40/20/40 split bench.  That is only on LS trim, which LS can't option any of the trick suspension.     2nd row bench power fold RPO code is "ATT".  So your dealer should be able to sort their locator to find matching builds by searching the combo of ATT and Z95 combined to find a 2nd row power fold with MagRide.     You can do the 2nd row power bench AND have MagRide, or Mag with Air on Z71, RST and High Country.     Here's a Z71 with 2nd row power bench and the Z71 Off Road Package which adds the Adaptive Air and MagRide - 2026 Suburban | Details | Vehicle Locator   Here's an RST with 2nd row power bench and the RST Capability Package, and RST Capability adds the Adaptive Air with Magride - 2026 Suburban | Details | Vehicle Locator   I can't find a High Country, but you can do it on there.  Requires the 6.2, and the Sun and Tow pack which allows you to then option the 2nd row power fold.  Black interior only.  High Country comes standard with MagRide and you can order the air if you get the High Country Deluxe, but Deluxe will take you to captain 2nd row.       You can do it at GMC on the AT4 and the regular Denali (not Ultimate) as well.
    • So.  Get this.  On the Chevy regular cab, you can get the factory remote start at the dealer from the accessories catalog.  BUT.  GMC, you can't.   Now...get this...GMC 2 door, you CAN get the power seat.     Go.  Figure.   Anywho.  are you trying to order?  Or locate?  Ordering for 2 door 1/2 tons has been stopped as of April or May?  So you won't be able to order.  You'll have to shop on the ground units or in transit units.     Ordering was stopped because the new trucks are coming.
    • Thank you.  I really appreciate the well wishes.  I'm an engineer in the telecom industry, I know hardly anything about marketing.  Over the years I did some videos for nonprofits and web sites for small businesses and the seed was planted.  Agree with over-buying, I started shooting on an iPhone before I got my first DSLR and tripod.   I'm looking at trucks with potentially 150,000+ miles to keep the cost of entry low while focusing on the client experience and equipment.  Good wireless mics for interviews, the right lenses & lighting to look professional.  But I don't want to be late or break down, the stress of emptying a trailer & securing a rental truck right before a gig would negate any savings from buying a junker.  So anything that leaks water, has extensive rust, or generally unreliable I'd like to avoid.   Does GM/Chevy overbuild these trucks for upfitting?  I talked to a local upfitter, they sometimes tie lights & other 12V into existing circuits, which I always thought was bad.  Which is why I enjoyed the AUX upfit switches on previous trucks (odd they mostly come with off-road or work truck packages).
    • i guess it might be depending on the type of driving. my 2.7 has 120k miles, changed the plugs at 70k and it runs as good as new. i have not used any injector cleaner
    • GM's are stainless and have a fairly robust powder coating, although, still not worth $850 in my opinion. They will hold up a lot better than their cheaper steel aftermarket counterparts.   What I like about the GM step bars is dealers will often equip their dealer stock with them. Lots of margin. Which means a lot of people end up buying them because they're already on the truck, even if they don't like them. So it's pretty easy to find brand new takeoffs with hardware on Marketplace and Craigslist for about $250.   That's what I did for my crew cab. I wanted ZR2 rock rails for the look, but with the ability to bolt up GM's assist step package. From GM it's about a $2500 accessory all in. The old folks in my life can't get in the truck without steps. I found the whole package on marketplace for $180.
