Key FOB programming for 1998 GMC Sierra?

I got it thanks to help from James B. Real easy too. Jumpered pins 4 & 8 on the DLC. Locks cycled. Held both buttons on the key fob at the same time for 10 seconds and it was programmed!

Go to http://www.pacific-audio.com/discussion.html and type in "Programming Remote Keyless Entry" in the Search box.  This will take you to a discussion about programming your truck to read your new key fob as well as show you a diagram of the DLC.  I'll paraphrase below.

1. Locate the DLC below the steering wheel and jumper pins 4 & 8 with a metal paper clip.  Pin 4 is the 4th pin from the left in the top row and Pin 8 is farthest right pin in the top row.  After making the connection, the locks on your truck will cycled locked and unlocked to let you know that the truck is now in the "learning mode".

2.  Hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote to be learned at the same time until the locks on the truck again cycle locked and unlocked.  Release the buttons on the remote.

3. Repeat step 2 for all other remotes to be programmed.

4. Remove the paper clip jumper from your DLC.  You're done.
