Radio Keeps Losing Time?

my oem radio keeps losing time i have to reset every couple of days, also yesterday afternoon i went to start the truck and when i turned the key nothing happened then 2 sec. later i hear vrrrrr sound and then the strarter kicked in and started right up. looked over at the radio and the dam time was reset again, i checked the battery cables seem to be clean and tight.

well i must have a short somewhere or something, possibly just need a new radio, truck has 32000 maybe i can get it replaced under warranty, the only thing is when i had an aftermarket radio in it the antenna cable going to the radio got damaged, so im sure the dealer will say that voids the warranty n e one by chance know how to fix that cable.

Have you checked the actual battery? Mine was doing this for a while and I finally got off my butt and checked my battery. I had enough juice to start it a lot of times but it would be a hard start or would just reset my clock, if I left my lights on or listened to the radio until it cut off. Checked the battery and it was bad so I rang in the new year with a brand new battery.

If you live in a northern climate, most stock batteries last about 3 years. And yes a weak one will cause the radio to reset
