Why No 20 Inch Wheels With Crew Cab

Why when you go to the build your truck on GMC.com on a 1500 crew cab 4X4 slt with 6.2 engine it wil not give you the option for the 20 inch wheel. its there but if you click on it , it will not allow you to choose that option. But then when you get to the options or accessories you can add 20's or 22's for around $3000.00 bucks. If you can run 20's or 22's on it as a accessorie for $3000.00 why can you not choose the regular 20 inch wheels which is an $800 option? Anyone else run in to this or know why they do it this way ? Thanks in advance for any info!!

Per the owner manual, do not take your vehicle off road with 20" wheels...Kinda makes a 4X4 pointless, hence them not offering them.

You can get 6.2 crew cab with 20"s. My dealer had a 2011. I don't know if they were accessory or an option though. Jack don't know Jack.

you get the 20's and 6.2 with the high performance package or whatever it is... Cant get em with the max trailer package though. Those are the 17's

Exactly,Your thinking of the "Z60" High-Performance Suspension pkg.,which gives you the 20" wheels with P275/55R20 Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires.

As you also said,The "NHT" Max-Trailering pkg. is limited to 17" wheels with P265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires,The NHT pkg. also only comes with the "Z85" Trailering/Handling suspension.

You can also get the 6.2 with the Z71 suspension pkg. which allows you to get either the standard 17" wheels with P265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires,or the optional 18" wheels with P265/65R18 Bridgestone Dueler A/T RHS tires.

What suspension package are you choosing? You MUST choose the "Z60" suspension pkg. in order to get the 20s from the factory.

Your right,When I went to GMC's site and tried to spec the 6.2 it forced me to get the NHT pkg. w/17's,This is a mistake and issue with their website,you CAN get the 6.2 w/factory 20s,although there don't seem to be very many out there currently.

 

Heres a few I found,notice they are SLT crew-cabs with the 6.2 and the Z60 suspension pkg. with factory 20s!....
