Banks Ram-air Installed

Installed the Banks Ram-Air today in my '07 Silverado 3500HD.

Now whether it actually improves anything I'll see, but it does sound better. ;)

This is step 1, next is the exhaust in March, and I'm hoping by end of summer to have their Speed-Brake installed.

how is it ram air, it just looks like a standard cai?

 

i think banks actually makes a scoop that goes down to where the passenger side tow hook is- imo i would look into that so its a true ram air setup. you would still have the other tow hook so that wouldnt be too much of an issue, but i dunno if you go off road or not though.

if your truck doesn't leave pavement, i say install the scoop. but if you go on gravel, dirt, mud etc. that scoop will bring it dirt, bugs, mud and clog your filter quick.

Took the truck out today for a run....too much snow yesterday so no test drive.

To be honest, can't say I feel anything difference, but there is a deeper sound to it.

I didn't go with the scoop.....don't want to take a chance as I do camp a lot so lots of dirt roads. Plus with the snow in the winter.

I'll be taking a 1200km (720mile) trip this weekend. I track my fuel so I know I'm getting 16.4l per 100km (@14.3 mpg) the past two trips, so I'll actually have some comparison numbers next week.
