Door Wont Close Unless I Slam It

Recommended Posts

I just purchased an 04 Denali with 87k miles. I noticed only the driver door has to be really slammed in order for it to close. How do i remedy this? Thanks for all your help.

Is the door saging? If it is the hinges need adjusted. If not I would try to lube the latch, Maybe the latch is sticking?

The door is not sagging, I already lubed the latch. Seems it just needs a good slam to close.

Was thinking the latch on the actual door frame may need to be adjusted. Figured i would ask before i start adjusting things

if the door is not sagging then try just loosening the striker on the body and just bring it out a very little bit at a time untill it closes correctly.

was probably in an accident, when i got a new passenger door on my truck, its a lot harder close, you gotta slam it.

Check the Cab vent in between the cab and bed. Maybe its clogged or something not allowing the air pressure to escape when you close the door.

Ok so once I loosen the bolts to the stryker on the door jam. Is it only gonna move in and out.

Or will it also move up and down. I dont want to make a simple thing more complex. If it moves all over then I will just have a professional body shop adjust it for me, But if i can only get it to inch out a slight bit then its perfect.
