Squeeky Brake Pedal

Recommended Posts

Ive got an 05 Silverado that has developed a squeeky brake pedal. I dont want to just go spraying WD40 all over everything, so Im turning to you guys. Has anyone experienced this problem? What can I put on it to fix the squeek?

My 06 just started this a month or so ago. It is very annoying, especially in stop and go traffic. Any tips or ideas on this would be awesome.

well not to sink your ship, but both my 01 an 04 had very squeaky brake pedals, and WD40 did it. the sqeak hasnt come back and its been a year

This one is easy. Had the same problem, know just what you mean.

I went to remove and lubricate the nylon bushing that the pedal pivots on, and found myself unable to take it loose (would have had to remove a lot more stuff to get a backup wrench on it).

I did, however, manage to rotate the bolt in the bushing, and maybe the bushing in the bore of the pedal. Simply rotating the bushing must have spread around the grease that was already in there, because it hasn't made A ****ING PEEP SINCE.

Spin the bolt and your problems will be solved. Takes five minutes and one wrench.

Ok cool. I figured it would be an easy fix, but I just didnt want to go in there and screw something up by trying to disassemble something or spray something with WD40 that I shouldnt have. Ill try the rotating thing, then I may hit it with some white grease spray.
