MISSION COMPLETE

2000 GMC · October 13, 2002

Well we finally made to DC. What a trip. Never going to do that again. Already saw the White House, my navagator got us lost and we drove right by it.

Truck ran great, put just over 6,000 miles total on it. Total milage now is 30,136. Not bad for a 2 year old vehicle.

Ran the same oil total trip, Moble I 10W-30. Used just under a quart total trip. Truck averaged anywhere from 17 to 19 mpg. I was doing between 65 and 80 mph. When the wife drove we did the 80mph.

My change oil indicator still hasn't come on yet. Is this normal or will it come on anytime now? Changed the oil right before I left.

Finally spoke to GM about the axel. They are going to cover my 30,000 mile vehicle check up. Still going to try to get my cash back.

Over all my family and myself had a great time. I"m glad it was a safe trip..

Sounds good, glad it was a safe 1 for you too. As for the change oil light, due to the highway driving, you may not have put enough strain on the engine for the "magic formula" to detect oil wear needing change. May want to do it on your own before the light comes on though.

Glad you made it safe!!! The oil light is probably going to come on soon as stated before. I've seen people that have had their lights come on after 6k miles...

And like stepside said: "keep after them about the rear axle".
