Need Help Rough Suspension

Hey guys, sorry for the newb qestion in advance lol. I just bought a 2001 reg cab reg bed 2wd Silverado. Love the truck other than the fact that it has really rough ride. The truck has 195k and my qestion is what would cause this? I looked underneath and noticed that up front the bump stops are about an inch from contact. At this point i'm thinkin new springs. If i'm right what else would be a good idea to replace along with the springs? Thanks for any help guys! love the site.

1) I would bet that your shocks need to be replaced. If you jump up and down in the bed, how many times does the truck rock up and down? Push on the front and see if it bounces a lot.

2) What load range tires are on the truck and what PSI are you running them at?

3) Does it look like the suspension has been lifted with a coil spacer or lift spring?

If you jump/push up and down on the front and back it's a little bouncy. I'm not sure about the load range, but they do seem pretty heavy looking for the truck I think they might be 10 ply if that makes a difference? I'm running them at 45psi. The suspension, especially up front looks a little saggy if anything, thats what made me think springs.

The higher the plies, the stiffer the tire. I'd bet that a load range E tire on such a light truck wouldn't help your ride. Have you looked at your suspension RPO codes? I would be more concerned with the shocks and tires than the springs.
