I want to replace the front wheel bearings on my 99 Silverado. When looking up the parts there are different ways to do this. Do I need to buy a new hub assembly or can I just get some bearing and repack them in the existing hub?

 

The truck is a 5.3 2wd.

On a '99 you should have bearings that can be removed and repacked

 

Exactly, you should be able to take your bearings out, inspect them and if good, just clean them up and grease them and install.
