Need With Painting A Grille

On my 90 sierra the chrome finish on the grille is almost near gone it looks like a chrome tape?My question is how would go about painting this grille?What base coat you guys would recommend and so on.I would like to do it chrome.But every says i should mask how the chrome GMC emblem and spray all black,it would match the headlights and signals.And the truck will be sprayed pearl black some time.So i need some help and opinions.Thanks..

Start with adhesion promoter and them move to primer. You really wont get that good of chrome look from a rattle can, I have seen people use spaz stix mirror chrome before but basically it wont look like new.

Trust me, chrome paint = shit, if it looked worth a cuss oem would do that instead of chrome plating the grille to save money, but it looks horrible.

C/K Resto man...or LMC truck. Get a new one, probably cheaper than painting anyway...C/K stuff is pretty cheap now.

 

Unless you want to paint it body color or something to that effect. I know in an earlier post you said you wanted to paint the truck pearl black. Color matched grill would look sweet man.
