2007 Sierra Stabilitrak

So I have a 2007 Sierra Denali and i've noticed that on start up in my information panel it says stabilitrak off. This is a factory installed option I have. Does this mean it isn't working, or is that just the self test it does? I have no other lights while driving to indicate that the stabilitrak isn't working right. Thanks for the help.
