Super Spring + Rc 2" Level Kit Combo

So I think I've finially figured out what I'm going to do on my 2008 1500 sierra z71 ext cab. I need a little more capability in the payload department and the truck squats pretty hard now when I load it up. And of course, it has a fair bit of rake. Actually, I've used the truck pretty hard in the 2 yrs I've owned it, so the spring steel I figure is a little more relaxed too. Either way, the factory truck right now sits 2-1/2" higher in the back (Front 36-1/4", Rear 38-3/4"). So anyway....I'm considering putting a pair of Supersprings SSA8 in the back. That should add about 3/4" maximum in the lowest setting. Then I was going to add a 2" (or 1-1/2") RC leveling kit to the front just to get some of that rake out. And hopefully when I tow or do some payload it won't squat nearly as much. I think this will work out to my rear sitting 1-1/4" higher. Shouldn't be too bad I guess. Just a straight 2" leveling kit on the front just looks a little too high. I don't reallly mind that much rake, but definatley wanted to remove some of it. Anybody got pics with this setup or even with just the ssa8 supersprings? also, any thoughts on this setup? thanks!

Post some pics when you're done. I'm looking at doing similar, only I'll probably leave the front stock. Just want a tad more payload capacity, but prefer to be level when towing (need the rake unloaded). The two options I'm considering are some light super-springs, or an "add a leaf" with a smaller (or removed?) rear block. The superspring (ss) sounds pretty good, since it has minimal effect on daily driving. I don't really want air bags for a couple of reasons, but haven't totally ruled them out. The best thing about a long "add a leaf" is that it distributes load forward/backwards and onto the leaf pack the way it should. The ss idea concerns me a little, since they put a lot of force where those rollers/brackets contact the spring.

I'll definately post some pics when I'm done. My only reservation is becoming the very point you brought up. It does seem that the rollers are seeing the brunt of the work in this system. Although, since the system works in tandem with your stock suspension....it doesn't worry me too much I suppose. On another note, the superspring option has some options too. If you use the lowest holes when mounting these....you use the least amt of preload tension, get the least amt of height increase, and your ride should stay the same. I'm warming up to them...really haven't heard any unbias bad input on this setup. I know one guy that has a set of ssa9's on his 96 z71 with no modification to the front of his truck and it rides great and doesn't really squatt much at all with the same load that use to make it squatt. I'll keep you in mind when i get this done and post pics and input. I probably will wait a month or 2 before i do it though.
