Power Seat Wobble - OD Hesitation

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone was experienceing these problems or knows of a TSB regarding them

1) I have a 2001 Tahoe w/ power seats and a slight wobble can be felt on the seat back when coming to a stop sign or pulling out.

2) When driving in town I try to keep the trans in 3, then once on the freeway into OD I go, but there seems to be a hesitiation on the shift point - Feels almost like the trans is holding back.  This problem only occurs when shifting from 3 to OD at speed.  If I start in OD no problems and shift are normal.

I plan on taking it to the dealer for some warranty work, but wanted some info before making the call.

Thanks All

I had a problem with my seat that sounds similar.  I could hear a popping kind of sound when taking off or stopping (usually only on a hard kind of stop).  I don't have the invoice handy right now, but I can find it and let you know what was replaced to fix it.

If I happen to forget to reply, just remind me in a PM, and I'll post it here.  :jester:

Ok fellas', here's what was on my ticket.  Replaced under warranty.

----------

DRIVERS SEAT MOVES AND MAKES POPPING SOUND WHEN BRAKING OR ACCELLERATING.

REPLACED ADJUSTER    P/N 12476877

----------

My dealer replaced one of the tracks first, but that didn't help.  Then the wrong part came in a couple times, but it was finally fixed with the above P/N.

I would advise checking out your truck before and after the work is done.  They had to remove the whole seat to fix it, and apparently the guys who worked on mine must have unbolted the seat, and then just drug it across the carpet and plastic trim as far as they could before the lifted it out.  The made long, deep cuts in the plastic on the step sill, the inside panel where the 4th door would be (mine's a 3 door), the paint below the step sill, and then hit the door panel with it (or something) and cut the vinyl trim.

They ended up replacing all the interior pieces and door panel, but it still makes me mad that I've had something messed up, forgotten, or broken almost everytime I've had it there.  It's like some of them just don't care about other peoples property.  I spoke with the service manager about it, and he apoligized (sp?) repeatedly and said they would take care of it.

Good luck with it, and I hope it fixes your problem.  :thumb:
