hello- im a new one here- i am also a girl and i try to keep my truck 2006 gmc sierra 1500 up to date with all the maintenance <----spell check...

1.the right side of my instrument panel is dim (the spedometer). Do i need to change a fuse to fix this or a relay? if so, which one ? in the instrument panel fuse block? or the under hood fuse box? or the center instrument fuse block

2. also, my cigarette lighter outlet and the power outlet (to charge the phone) have also gone out- is this a fuse i need to change? if so, which one? in the instrument panel fuse block? or the under hood fuse box? or the center instrument fuse block

3. last one for today, the climate control blue and red stripes also went out the lights behind the buttons dont work but the heater and ac work.

help- i need to get my baby at 100%

1. Bulb(s) have gone bad in the instrument panel. You can have them replaced or can do it yourself if you can I had the stepper motors replaced in my wife's Tahoe and the guy that did it, also replaced the bulbs.

2. Fuse is probably blown...I think it is the fuse block under the hood.

3.Bulbs have gone out...don't know if these can be replaced or not, though.

Cig lighter fuse is in the under hood box. Look for "Cig" or "Cigar" on the fuse diagram layout on the underside of the fuse box cover.

Instrument panel bulbs are soldered to the board so you will need to have someone who can solder do it, or, if you can solder, then you can replace them.

Same with climate control. Bulbs can be replaced, but will take some skill

hammerhead611- thank you

txab- thank you i fixed the cig lighter. I did end up taking the dash board apart (for the climate control and the spedometer) and i did see that the bulbs were soldered to the board. ( i will need to get someone to do this for me) once i see it done i can do it my self for the future.

Have a great day gentlemen and thank you, this information was very helpful
