Swap Trannys

I have a 2001 Sierra with the 4.8 in it. The problem is that the body is gone. I have the opportunity to purchase a 1999 Sierra SLT Z71 with a 5.3(good shape but the tranny is gone).

The question is will my tranny fit onto the 5.3?

If I'm not mistaken everything should be identical. Both trannys should be 4L60's.

You might do a shift kit. I don't know if it applies to the 4.8l vs the 5.3 but I know on a lot of vehicles GM had a habit of setting the trannies behind smaller engines up to shift even softer.
