2011 Silverado 4x4 Well The U2 55's With 305 30 24" Tire'

tires are 305 35 24s they come with srry or a 295-35-24 i think thats to thin of a tire?

 

 

 

i want a set of the u2 55s 24s everything stock on my truck well they rub alot i need help asap how bad well my ride be i got stock 20"s with goodyear ls tire's well they stick out a lot from my fender i know this been asked i cant find no topics

why is it a job to understand my qustion's sorry i didnt go to grammer school this is all the info i know on the wheels

Hey buddy its going to be rare to find some help on this site with 24 inch rim questions. I post rarely becuase theres alot haters on here if you go with wheels over 20". I have seen on other sites that someone had this exact setup but he went with the 295s tire size. because the rim is 24x10 it will probably cause a little more rubbing if you go with 305s than if you went with 295s if you want to be safe get the front 2" RC lift....im going with 305s but my rim is 24x9.5 and according to my buddies where i live he gets a little rub at full crank with stock suspension. Im going with a 2" rear shackle drop to level it so im sure ill have to adjust the wheel well a little but from what HELPERS on this site have told me i should be fine.

295/35/24 is plenty. I drove from Central Cali to the ATL metro area with about 1,000 LBS in the bed of my 09 on 285/35/24 pirelli. Your 3 biggest concerns should be offset, overall diameter (with the tires), and width of the tires. On a stock suspension a +25 to +35 is a sure bet. I'm sure you can go out side of these offsets but you may run into rubbing issues when turning(with a wider tire). I like to try and keep my overall diameter as close as possible to stock. Its bad enough these oversized wheels wheels weigh a lot adding more rubber makes it worse plus you throw off your speedometer. My stock tires are 17s and my 285/35/24s are a little over an inch larger in diameter then my stocks. Not sure what the over diameter of stock 20s are, but there are plenty of online tire calculators you can use to compare tires. You maybe able to get away with the 305/35s, but I couldn't tell you exactly what offset you need. Make sure you get a good quality tires, and stay away from cheap off brands like Nexen, Terreza (spell check), or sunny tires. They don't do well in the rain and don't grip as well as other brands.

 

If you are wondering my wheels are 24x10 3 piece forged wheels with a +50.8MM offset. I went with such a high offset so I could run the 285/35s without rolling my fenders. I do rub a tiny bit while turning but it isn't noticable most of the time.

i dont knwo the offset i posted what i know about the wheels iam thinkere there 30 offset? so would what i posted be okay you think so a 295 tire insted of the 305

Mine are 295/35R24's on 24x10 with +25 offset to give you an idea.

    • Monthly payment is only part of the equation. With today's prices and interest rates, I'd look at the total monthly cost: payment, insurance, registration, fuel, maintenance, and expected repairs. A vehicle that fits comfortably into your budget is usually the better choice than stretching for a higher trim. I've also kept my vehicles longer over the past few years. New cars have gotten expensive enough that driving one for 10+ years, while staying on top of maintenance, often ends up being the most cost-effective approach.

    • Thanks newdude!  By the time manual selection is needed, I'm probably too much of a control-freak to depend on the transmission sensing braking to activate automatic downshifting.  I would be anticipating the situation and already be manually downshifting.   This truck replaced a 2004.5 LLY diesel with the Allison 5-speed.  Putting it in T/H made noticeable differences (when the torque converter locked, upshift points, downshift behavior).  On this 2024 gasser with the 10L1000 I haven't been able to detect much, if any, difference.  Ok, I can never tell now when the torque converter locks up.  But I also don't notice differences in shifting.  For downhills, I've probably already manually downshifted by then anyway.  Since it's also more awkward (than the 2004.5) to engage/disengage I don't even bother.  Or maybe it doesn't really matter with just a 3k lb. camper in the bed?   Thanks also for the list of reasons the charging system might select various voltages.  However, what I am seeing doesn't fall into any of those categories.  It very definitely, and very consistently, rises after coasting/braking.  Maybe not immediately, but not very long after coasting/braking.  Very consistently drops voltage when no longer coasting/braking.  It might also be interacting with the camper battery charging (I might disconnect the camper and see if it changes the charging behavior).  I also need to recheck turning on headlights for when I want to force it to charge the camper.   Another JR, in June I converted the camper to LiFePO4.  Since it's not a good idea to try to charge lithiums directly using truck, I installed a Victron Orion XS DC-DC charger (which BTW is AMAZING!!).  Being cheap, I only had to buy that one item (besides the battery, of course) to do the conversion.  The camper OEM 120v battery charger (only 19 years old and works perfectly) and the truck feed the input to the DC-DC charger (not at the same time).  But I didn't want the camper charger feeding back to the truck so I kept the old separator.  I considered replacing the separator with a 30amp diode but that means more work and might add another 1/2 volt drop.  One thing that surprised me was the voltage drop over the long 10awg wire run, so I can only charge smoothly at 8 amps (because the DC-DC charger is completely configurable).  Another reason I don't want an added voltage drop with the diode.  I might also be a little lazy but all this work is being done under the sink with a small cabinet opening.    
    • apparently CA smog is (or at least was)  checking that the vehicle is using the oem and/or a ca smog approved tune, so I expect you'll fail inspection doing it.
    • yes, leaking exhaust will mess up o2 sensor readings, which in turn messes up fuel trims.
